Male White Peacock Butterflies, Anartia jatrophae, are territorial. They try and claim an area as their own and will fight other males who try and challenge their land. Why? For the ladies of course.

The area is typically no larger than 50 sq ft. Smart males will find a spot that contains lots of host and nectar plants that are attractive to the female butterflies.
