Luffa Gourd Update!

Our volunteer Luffa Gourd in the front yard foodscape is still going wild! The last post we had on this vine showed some small fruits that have since been harvested. Here we show how large these gourds can become and how many can grow on a single vine.

This plant is great for any homestead or foodscape. Not only can the gourds be eaten, but they can also be dried out and used as sponge or even shower luffa.

There are several varieties of luffa gourd. I am not sure which one we have. Different varieties have different fruit sizes, shapes, and even tastes.

Once our luffa has been harvested, we will be selling seeds online. So keep an eye on our online store!
