Memorial Day is very special to me as a veteran, first responder, business owner, and citizen of a free country. Every year I share this prayer from Eleanor Roosevelt. She kept it on a piece of paper in her wallet. When we honor the fallen today and pay our respects, I think it is also a good time for self reflection in our own contributions. Did our brave patriots sacrifice it all for us to sit idly?
I imagine sitting down with the mother of a soldier killed somewhere in a foreign land and telling her my life's story. When I finish, I look her in the eyes and ask if I was worth it. Was my life worth her son's? Have I done enough? Have I contributed to society or hurt it? Am I living my life to its fullest, making every moment count? Living every second of it like it's a precious gift?
See you.................
