Welcome back to another weekly #WhatIsItWednesday !!!
It seemed like time has flown by since our last weekly plant identification contest. But this week, I am excited about this plant and being able to talk about it when we reveal it this weekend.
Watch the video below for more info. I give a few hints about the plant that will hopefully make it easier to identify. One is that this plant hosts a very interesting moth larva that really knocked this plant down to its knees recently. Another hint is that this plant is edible and recipes are easily found from dishes in Central America. There is also a close relative and look-alike plant that is native to Florida. However, the FL native has intimidating spines instead of the one I show in the video which is spineless.
Make sure you submit your answer by midnight this Friday in order for your answer to be eligible for the random drawing to determine this week's winner. The winner will receive a $10 prize which they can claim as a $10 gift card to a brand of their choice, $10 off our online nursery, or can choose to donate $10 to any non-profit of their choice.
For every 10 participants (right and wrong answers), we will be donating money to the Florida Wildlife Federation
Good luck and hope you enjoy!
See you......................................
