Tampa Verbena or Tampa Vervain, Glandularia tampensis,  is a FL native annual or short-lived perennial. It is a low growing plant only reaching approx 1.5 feet tall. It could be used as a tall ground cover, accented with taller plants behind it, or as a specimen plant.When grown in pots, it can have a cascading growth habit. The bright purplish pink flowers add a great pop of color in any landscape. Butterflies seem to love it. While suggested planting is full sun, we have had good success in shade as well. 
 
Florida has two native species within the Glandularia genus which includes "mock verbena" or "mock vervain".  Tampa Verbena is endemic to FL and only naturally found on east and west coasts of Central Florida.

Natural Range on west coast is Levy south to Collier County. East coast Flagler to Indian River County.
Suggested for full sun but will grow and bloom in shade.
Can be grown in sandy soils and will tolerate drought.
Canbe grown in zones 9-10
