Swamp Rosemallow is an absolutely stunning perennial native hibiscus that is sure to draw your attention. This shrub is perfect for your rain garden or more consistently moist garden areas. The flowers can be either white or pink but either color is sure to be a show stopper. Although listed as a perennial, this plant will go dormant and return each year. 

 

Larval host of  Gray Hairstreak, Painted Lady Butterfly, Common Checkered Skipper and Tropical Checkered Skipper butterflies and  four moths : Pearly Wood Nymph, Yellow Scallop Moth, Io Moth,  and Delightful Bird-Dropping Moths.

 

Also attracts many other pollinators and native bees. 

 

The native range in Florida is mostly in the northern part of the state but can be grown in 9A, 9B, 8A, and 8B.
