Gaillardia pulchella, or Indian Blanket Flower, also known as Firewheel is an amazingly colorful wildflower. It was long thought to be native to Florida, but in the past decade many suggest it was naturalized instead. It is still thought to be native to most of the United States. Don't let this dissuade you from adding it to your wildflower garden. 
 
Blanket flower boasts colorful red, orange, yellow blooms. Flowers attract so many pollinators. Most foliage remains low to the ground but blooms reach an average of 1.5 feet tall. It grows almost anywhere. It even grows near the beach where it tolerates salty sprays. It is grown as an annual but self seeds itself each year very prolifically. Expect it to spread itself by seed. It could begin popping up in areas outside of the original are where planted. Dead-heading can encourage more blooms. 
 
Native to most of the United States. Thought to be naturalized in Florida.

Grows best in full sun
Enjoys well draining soils and sandy soils
Drought tolerant.

Any damaged packages, damaged plants, dead plants or irregular shipping patterns should be claimed through the USPS insurance claims system.
