Lopsided Indian Grass is a must have clumping grass for your FL native garden or butterfly garden. It is considered a long-lived perennial but goes dormant in the fall. With fall blooms, it is perfect for adding fall color when other natives are beginning to slow down. We like planting native clumping grasses around our butterfly host plants. Not only does it add a nice variety to the landscape, but it offers protection to young caterpillars and a sheltered place to rest for other critters.
Larval host for "grass skippers" including swarthy skipper (Nastra lherminier), Delaware skipper (Anatrytone arogos), Eufala skipper (Lerodea eufala) and twin spot Skipper (Oligoria maculate).
